Keeping your Newborn Safe
in a Bassinette

Always check the manufacturer’s instructions when using a bassinette for your newborns sleeping place.

Call the manufacturer of your bassinette if you are unsure or have lost the instructions.

·         Many bassinettes may only be used until your newborn is 15lbs, 4 months old or can roll over, whichever comes first.

·         Make sure your bassinette has a way to stop it from rocking too deeply (too far from side to side so your newborn doesn't fall out).

·         Your bassinette should have a sturdy base. If it has wheels, the wheels should lock in place to keep the bassinette still.

Newborns have thin skin. How can you prevent burns for Newborns?
Test baby's bathwater with your hand, making sure it doesn't feel hot to you.
Carry your tea to the table before you carry your newborn to the living room.
Use a travel mug at home to prevent spills and scalds.
All of the above!
